Anderson v1 pg251 - letter #233

Cursed Tipsy Domanovetz – not Count of music, but Count of gluttony – Count of dinner, Count of supper and the like – The quartet [Opus 74] is to be rehearsed at Lobkowitz’s at half past ten or perhaps even at ten o clock today.  H[is] E[xcellency] who, it is true, is generally absent so far as his intelligence is concerned, has not yet arrived – So do come along – if the Chancellery turnkey lets you slip out – The duke, who would like to become my servant, is going to see you today – you may agree to 30 gulden with his wife obbligato – wood light, ordinary livery – I must have someone to cook for me, for as long as our food continues to be so bad, I shall always be ill – I am dining at home today so as to have better wine to drink.  Provided you order what you would like to eat, it should give me pleasure if you too would join me – you will have the wine gratis and, what is more, a better wine than is provided at that niggardly Schwan –

                                        Your small                                                                                                                Beethoven
